Before there was Zoli, there was the Belly. I really enjoyed being pregnant, for the most part. It was fun to experience the anticipation of meeting the mystery nugget growing inside me.
In October, friend Deb Gerth came down from Seattle to take a slew of photos of the belly and me & Tony.

In September we took a weekend getaway to the coast, assuming that it would be a while before we might get out of town again.

In October, Joelle & Emalee teamed up to throw us a fabulous Fertility Fiesta to celebrate our passage into parenthood. It was an awesome gathering of good friends & family, delicious food, and thoughtful gifts.
Mama friends: When Jen, Mary, and I lived at the ABC House, we often chatted in the kitchen about how we all wanted to be Mamas someday. They were sweet enough to make the trip from Olympia for the party, with Annabel in tow.

Mom visited for the fiesta weekend and we visited the Portland Art Museum to see the China Design Now exhibit.

Satchmo snuggling up to Zoli in utero. I imagined that his purring would sound really cool to the baby in the belly.
Self-portrait taken on Zoli's due date: 11/29/09. He was born exactly 1 week later.

Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteZoli is so beautiful. You are so good to write the account of the birth while it was all still fresh. You will love looking back on it. Thanks for sharing! xx Page
Hi Page! Just now saw that you posted a comment -thank you. It's true that everything becomes a blur and I've practically already forgotten what the first couple of months were like. Hope you and your family are doing great! Love, R
